My journey as an Excel VBA developer
Back in 2018, I was responsible for gathering patient information for pharmacists to make renal dosage recommendations to physicians. It involved time-consuming steps, such as copying and pasting data into an Excel worksheet manually, formatting and rearranging the data, and manually documenting the recommendation outcomes. Instead of doing all those labour-intensive work by myself, I utilized Excel VBA to streamline the process and reduce these tedious steps. My supervisor was astounded to learn that my Excel VBA skill can be an efficient and powerful tool in streamlining projects. My effort was recognized, and this further granted me countless opportunities in the future.
In 2019, as the main author, I submitted and presented my research findings in a local conference about how my excel application can efficiently and effectively facilitate appropriate renal dosage prescribing. This was how I started my first excel VBA project and it truly changed my life.
